Meet your Physiotherapist

Leigh-Anne de Villiers Leigh-Anne de Villiers

I graduated from the University of Pretoria in 2007. Since then I have been working mostly in private practice treating neurosurgical, orthopaedic and sport-injured patients. During this time I have also worked in a neuro-rehabilitation unit (Life Rehab East London), instructed hydrotherapy classes for nearly 2 years, and I did antenatal and postnatal physiotherapy (in Paarl, Western Cape).

I gradually developed an interest in chronic pain management and I successfully completed an OMT (Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapy) diploma in 2013, which broadened my understanding of anatomy, physiology and the pain mechanisms of the body. I did other post-graduate courses (such as dry needling and kinesio taping) to deliver excellent service to my patients and stay up to date with evidence based research.

Besides working from Coast Wellness Centre, I do hospital visits and home visits too. Quality of care and individual patient management is of utmost importance to me; therefore I will always put out enough time to treat every patient.  Furthermore I am excited to announce that I will do the Basi Pilates instructors' course and will be fully qualified mid- 2015!
